Whilst staying on top of a mountain as a guest at Mushroom farm we soon realised that somewhere that only sells small 500ml bottles of water for $2 is going to seriously damage our budget, so before we had the opportunity to live there for free we quickly realised that we had to find cheaper ways to live.

We filled our water bottle from the stream and put in the tablets. One tablet does up to two litres of water and you have to wait for 30 minutes before you can drink.

Our bottle looked like this beforehand:

And it looked like this afterwards:

You'll be pleased to know though that even though it still looked like mud, the chlorine smell reassured us that this was now drinkable.

Put it this way, it didn't kill us.
